Dynamic and soft belaying is intuitively possible with the ZAED. We tested the ZAED in both stages: Level 1 with a weight difference of approx. 10 kilos between Leni and János from "Die Kletterschule". Stage 2 with a weight difference of approx. 20 kilos between Leni and Máté. Soft belaying was possible in both constellations!

When paying out the rope, it is absolutely unnoticeable that a rope brake is being used. The rope runs through the device without any friction and it is also possible for the climber to pay out or retrieve the rope quickly without the device striking upwards and braking.
